Klipdraai Caravan Park is a beautiful resort in the heart of Gauteng, situated on the banks of the Klip River in Meyerton. It’s an hour’s drive from OR Tambo and 90 minutes from Pretoria. During our visit to Klipdraai, which was over a weekend while scouting for a photo shoot location for the Destination Nature and Destination Wish caravans, the resort was packed to the brim with holidaymakers. Clearly this is a very popular resort, and it’s understandable why, given the manicured lawns, shaded stands and spotless ablutions.
This is the perfect caravan park for the whole family, with grassed shaded stands with lots of activities and amenities. If you have children, this is the park for you. When we were there over a weekend it was a hive of activity with the adults stoking the braai fires and the children enjoying the outdoors. Klipdraai is incredibly safe with good security, security cameras, security fencing and access is through a manned 24 hour control boom.
The camping stands are grassed and many enjoy shade from large trees. Klipdraai is the ideal place for a weekend getaway or to spend your long summer holidays. Day visitors are welcome to enjoy a picnic under the trees at the resort. Pets are allowed on leashes. Settle in, light a braai fire, prepare a potjie or pull out your COBB Cooker and relax as much as you desire.
CAMPING, CARAVANS & MOTORHOMES
The caravan park has 230 marked stands with beautiful green grass and lots of trees. Each stand has a 220 volt/30 amp electrical power point and water points are located nearby. Klipdraai has modern and clean ablution facilities and scullery areas for use by campers. There are 10 ablution facilities with showers, baths, toilets, paraplegic toilets, basins and power points for razors and hair dryers and 4 washing up areas. There are wonderful riverside camping stands that offer seclusion and lots of shade from trees. Just remember, where there is water, there is a good chance of mozzies, so don’t forget your Bite & Sting mozzie repellent.
