Tamboti Vreugde Holiday Resort – Dinokeng Game Reserve, Gauteng
Tamboti Vreugde is a private and serene resort inside a Big 5 nature reserve, just 60km north of Pretoria.
The resort has beautiful camping sites and chalets where you can truly experience the bushveld.
Tamboti is enclosed with an electrified fence and a secondary camp fence, keeping you safe and the wildlife outside in the Dinokeng Game Reserve. Here you can recharge your batteries and discover the joy of the wilderness in the peace and quiet given by nature.
The campsites are grassed and beautifully maintained, and the rustic chalets are adorned with fittings made from wood that is indigenous to the area.
The caravan park at Tamboti has 50 sites, all with electricity. The sites are unmarked because the camp is “naturally made”, so it’s first-come, first-serve. Camping sites will be allocated for group bookings.
The park is covered mostly with Kikuyu and wild Traury grass, with large trees that cast ample shade for campers.
Each campsite receives a braai on arrival and is cleaned daily.
There are four ablution facilities with three family bathrooms, and all are cleaned every morning.
Tamboti also offers self-catering accommodation options in six chalets.
There are two lapas and a boma for general use by guests and campers, and two splash pools as well as a children’s pool. For cooler days, the indoor swimming pool is heated.
Other facilities & activities include trampolines, jungle gyms, volleyball, bike and walking trails, fishing and birdwatching. There is a large function area and a beautiful chapel that seats 160 people, that is available for weddings and special events
The game in the reserve bordering the electric, fenced-off campsite, houses the Big Five as well as kudu, nyala, zebra, springbok, hornbills, francolin, guinea fowl, and many other species. Game drives are available on request.
Tamboti Vreugde has a kiosk that sells wood, fire lighters, milk and other necessities. The mall with butchery, filling station and coffee shop can be found 4km from the resort.
