A solar-powered, glamping home away from home

For many serious travelers, it has always been a challenge to camp off-grid without knowing if there will be enough power to survive for a long period of time. After a good couple of years of research, development and testing by Retreat Caravans, the Australian-designed E-RV was born and it is the world’s first all-electric RV!
How it’s powered
This magnificent vehicle of the future is equipped with an unprecedented 2033 watt solar system, paired with a 14.3kWh automotive-grade battery, coupled with a 5000-watt smart inverter that enables it to off-grid for an extensive period of time without any gas refills.
The E-RV is powered by an automotive-grade lithium-ion battery, a special Smart inverter with digital architecture and a roof-mounted solar array. It is self-sufficient and does not need any fossil fuels. There is no need for LPG gas, petrol or diesel, it is completely electric and self-sufficient.
Different models on offer (exterior and interior)
E-RV:
The interior of the E-RV is energy-efficient and made of composite materials. It can generate its own clean power when camping, while remaining carbon neutral of course. Its cabin is designed to make you feel at home while being out on the open road and is packed with luxurious features detailed below.
- Leather upholstery
- Air conditioner
- Three piece bed head (??)
- Pillow top mattress (??)
- Ceramic cassette toilet
- Fiberglass shower
- Gas stovetops
The E-RV solar-powered electric caravan is noticeable in the lack of gas bottles on the front A-frame. Without gas, this caravan doesn’t need vents, which means dust can’t get in when you go off-road and the interior temperature can be more easily controlled. The E-RV’s entire roof is covered with solar panels, so the air-conditioner is situated under the bed.
Exterior:
If you want a truly off-road, off-grid experience with your caravan, then the exterior needs to be able to withstand some extreme conditions. The exterior of the E-RV features:
- A toolbox on A-frame
- TV entertainment hatch
- Grey water tank
- External grilling and cooking with the electric Weber BBQ
