Situated in KwaZulu-Natal just 4 km from Mtunzini beach and river mouth, Xaxaza offers numerous shady and grassed sites, some with private bathrooms and kitchenettes.
Xaxaza is also an ideal base from which to visit to game parks such as Hluhluwe, Umfolozi, and Mkuzi, where you will be able to see the “Big Five”.
The sub-tropical climate makes Xaxaza a popular year-round destination. Relax on the golden beaches, chill out next to the swimming pool, or enjoy a round of golf at the golf club only minutes away. For the non-golfers and the more energetic, tennis, squash or bowls are also within easy reach at the country club.
And for the adventurous, there is horse riding at the Pony club in Mtunzini.
Other recreational activities include deep-sea fishing, walks through various ecosystems: estuarine, dune scrub, dune forest, coastal riverine and coastal forest. Because of this diversity of trails, a tremendous variety of bird species will more than satisfy the keen birder.
Most of the camping sites have electrical outlets and water taps, and the modern ablution facilities have hot and cold water at all times.
A modern laundromat with coin-operated washing and ironing facilities is also offered.
The games room has TV-games, snooker and pool tables, table tennis and a covered area for TV viewing. There is a jungle gym and trampoline for the little ones.
Xaxaza also offers self-catering accommodation in log cabins set in natural park-like surroundings.
Or you can book into fully-equipped caravans on site, complete with a side log cabin as an alternative to a tent. The cabin is fully equipped with extra beds, a dinette and cutlery and crockery. Just bring your own bedding, towels, and linen.
