Smuts Caravan Park offers the caravanner, camper and nature lover a unique venue in quiet country surroundings but still within easy access to shops, theatres and sports facilities. There are 48 stands with SABS European adaptor fittings.
Not all sites are set under shady trees and water access is within easy reach. The caravan park can also be hired for caravan rallies. Dogs are welcome but must be controlled. A special ‘Doggy Freedom’ zone, where your dog can roam freely in the permitted area, is provided along the Oubaas Trail just beyond the Place of Quiet.
Rooms have been restored so as to reflect the Smuts era. There is a mix of styles of furniture, including a few family heirlooms, which have been used to reflect the simple life style of Jan and Isie Smuts. Ouma’s Tea Garden, set in the shady gardens of the Smuts House Museum, offers the visitor a wide selection of delicious meals. Enjoy a drink, delicious lunch, tea and scones or one of Ouma’s favourite dishes. Special diets are also catered. Ouma’s Pavilion, the ideal venue to celebrate that special birthday or anniversary. The tranquil setting is prefect for intimate weddings, receptions or christenings.
