We are excited to announce that the Outdoor and Overland Expo has received official approval to take place in Elgin, Grabouw, and the greater Western Cape Regions from November 3 to 5, 2023. Additionally, Elgin Grabouw Country Club have confirmed that the expo grounds have not been damaged by the recent floods. So, despite flooding in various parts of the country, it is still indeed a go-ahead with the Outdoor and Overland Expo.
Unlike many other local industry trade shows and exhibitions, this event promises to be a thrilling experience designed for holidaymakers, caravan enthusiasts and camping adventure lovers, as you will soon discover.
The event will be hosted at the Elgin Grabouw Sports Club and Venue, marking the official start of summer in the Western Cape along the beloved N2 Garden Route. The event will be open for three days for day visitors from Friday 12:00 to Sunday 15:00.
As of now, our event organisers are celebrating the receipt of council and permit approvals. They are eagerly searching for outdoor industry providers to join us in displaying their related products in this popular and lucrative camping and caravanning region.
Nestled near the beginning of the Garden Route, this new outdoor Expo aims to bring the very best of what this industry has to offer to some of the most dedicated caravan and camping enthusiasts just beyond Cape Town’s borders.
In a recent interview with CaravanSA, Show organiser and director Andre Verster shared why he decided to bring one of his most popular shows from Gauteng to this lush farmland region in the Cape.
Andre, who is no stranger to Southern Africa’s breathtaking sites, holds various traversing concession to some of the region’s most influential world heritage sites, including the Richtersveld and UNESCO Biosphere reserves. In addition to being a prominent tour operator, he hosts and showcases events like the Heritage Trophy Event, the Land Rover Rally, and the prestigious Golden Rhino Adventure.
The Outdoor and Overlanding Expo in Grabouw is for all caravan and outdoor fanatics! This event promises to be exhilarating adventure days or a weekend for the entire family, not just for the guys!
Day visitors are more than welcome from Friday 12:00 to 18:00, Saturday from 08:00 to 18:00, and Sunday from 08:00 to 15:00. Limited weekend camping is available – book online to avoid disappointment. The Expo is open for all vehicles, road and off-road caravans, rooftop tents, outdoor accessories, trailer manufacturers, boats, watersports, braai equipment, a variety of food vendors, limited live entertainment, beer and craft gardens, indoor wine and cheese tasting, and even a cigar and whiskey lounge – plus more availability for other vendors, providers and attendees! The Outdoor and Overland Expo is focussed on the family, and a huge kid’s entertainment area is specially provided by the organisers.
Situated between two well-known landmarks, the Grabouw trail and the Eikenhof Dam, you’ll have the perfect spots to cool off from all the excitement.
Saturday’s schedule includes fun activities such as The Land Rover Games – where you can try your luck at “crank-starting the Series Land Rover,” and family fun at the roll-a-tyre games. There are also 4×4 self-drive mountain routes for adventurous souls.
Don’t miss out, as both venue and camping space are limited. Exhibitor stands and ticket prices are extremely affordable for anyone wanting to attend. Custom stand sizes are available upon request for larger vendors or specialist providers and manufacturers.
