Resort Review: Plettenberg, A Forever Resort, WC

796
VIEWS

With its picturesque setting right on the Keurbooms River, the Plettenberg Forever Resort is truly a dream destination for those who enjoy the touch of nature in a caravan park that still has top-notch facilities… and a lot of them!

The camp and caravan sites are set on lush grass under big trees, and all have access to electricity and drinking water. The furthest stand from the water’s edge is about 50 metres at most, so even if you don’t have a spot right next to the river, you’ll always be in close proximity of the waterfront.

All the stands and the chalets on offer have a dedicated braai area; wood and other necessities can be purchased at the shop.

The shared ablutions for the campsite are spotless and well looked after, as are the token-operated laundry facilities. Access to the park is through a manned security boom.

Day visitors are allowed in Plettenburg Forever Resort, and can enjoy the picnic stands and relax at the river’s edge.

The chalets, also within walking distance of the Keurbooms River, are well appointed and very neat, with all the accessories needed for a good holiday, including fridge, stove, microwave oven and braai area.

If fishing and boating is your thing, then you’ve come to the right place. The slipway is within the resort and easily accessible.

Plettenberg Forever Resort is a child’s paradise with numerous activities such as trampolines, swimming pools and putt-putt to keep them entertained.

Besides all the activities within the resort, the Plett Angling Club is close by which offers great food and great views overlooking the marina on the Keurbooms River.

Take a short drive in the sleepy town of Wittedrif and visit the Butchery & Country Store which also doubles as the post office. Try their watermelons, they’re the sweetest I’ve tasted in a long time.

Alternatively find the vegan restaurant called Bocca Dolce Vegan Restaurant and Coffee Roastery on the Quarry Lake Estate in Wittedrif and experience their simply delicious vegan food. The restaurant, coffee shop are situated in a beautiful setting. You won’t want to leave when you’re there.

Another great outing is a visit to the Lawnwood Snake Sanctuary just outside Plettenberg Bay. It’s home to a variety of indigenous and exotic snakes, large pythons, monitor lizards and crocodiles. They also serve great coffee, toasted sandwiches and other fare that is perfect for the kids.

If retail therapy is on your holiday list, fear not as there is a large shopping mall in close proximity to the resort with all the supermarkets, clothing stores and fast food places you need.

Forever Resorts Plettenberg Bay is the meeting place for avid campers, caravanners and motorhome enthusiasts in search of tranquility and peace. It’s spotlessly clean with large grassed stands; it’s a haven of relaxation for adults and offers endless fun for children.
