There are a total of 53 caravan stands, each with electricity, fresh water and a dedicated braai. The communal ablutions at Bosfontein are simply spectacular. Wow, you can certainly shower or bath and shave in style.
Bosfontein has an amazing indoor heated pool, in which I spent much time enjoying the lovely warmth. There is also an outside pool with a kiddie’s pool.
For the active teenagers who who want to impress other holiday romance prospects, there is a volleyball court. Of course, the older generation can also try their hand at hitting the ball over the net in an effort to work off the previous night’s delicious braai.
There is putt-putt, a trampoline, a pool table, a waterslide, table tennis and catch-and-release fishing, catering for a variety of holiday desires.
Outdoor lovers looking to get into nature can enjoy the numerous walks and mountain bike trail rides through the resort and surrounding game park.
Deon the owner will without a doubt come and chat and even suggest a game drive to view the wildebeest, giraffe, inyala, impala, duiker, bushbuck, waterbuck, zebra, eland and a variety of other birdlife and game.
If you’re lucky enough, you might be able to watch Deon call the giraffes over by name – they respond because they know he has pellet treats to offer them to eat. The giraffes are called Tinkerbell, Trompie and Kerneels. What majestic animals they are and what an experience it is to be in such close proximity to them.
Bosfontein is as safe as houses and a wonderful escape for the whole family. It has great amenities and those of you with children will have a hard time tracking them down as they’ll be out and about making new friends while you relax around the braai fire.
