CaravanSA recently had the privilege of the use of Norman and Tina Holmes’ new Destination Nature caravan for a day of photos. What a day it turned out to be, allowing us to get up close with this quality double axle offering. After the photo shoot we asked Norman and Tina a few questions relating to their Destination Nature and their camping experiences.
What were the reasons you decided to purchase the Destination Nature?
We started off camping in tents for about 20 years, then we had a Conqueror Comfort Boswa and lastly an Imagine Comfortvan off-road caravan. It was time to upgrade and we wanted our camping experience to be more luxurious – apparently it’s called “glamping” now! When we saw a second hand Destination Magic caravan at a dealer, we started thinking about the Destination range and went to Meyerton to view the models. We immediately fell in love with the Nature. We talked about our requirements and the Nature met all needs.
It has an island bed, air-con, a dinette which can convert into a double bed, a full bathroom, outside kitchen with basin and a snappy induction cooker. The spice rack outside has enough space for everything you will require when cooking up a storm. The microwave is a bonus (this was not one of our requirements). The full tent is spacious and very easy to put up. The front and rear packing compartments are spacious enough to take all our camping equipment including our lounger camping chairs, which we always had to put in our vehicle. The Nature caravan tows as easily as the last little off-road caravan we had. The Nature is so spacious, perhaps one day we will be touring with her.
Did you have any extras or accessories fitted over and above the standard ones found in the Nature?
No major extras were fitted by us though we did fit a two plate gas stove and an inverter ourselves.
Have you managed to get away with your Destination Nature to a few campsites?
Our first camp was at Richards Bay as we had a fishing competition trip and the second was to Klein Paradys in Brits. Our last trip was to a private little camp at the Vaal river called Deo Volente.
What vehicle are you towing your Destination Nature with?
Toyota Landcruiser 200 VX Diesel
A big thank you from CaravanSA to Norman and Tina Holmes for the use of their Destination Nature.
