New Model: Renault Captur

Combining the personality of a SUV, the roominess of an MPV and the dynamism of a hatch, the new Renault Captur is a crossover that ticks more than just one box. Aimed at SA’s small SUV market, the Captur is available in three petrol-powered derivatives− Expression, Dynamique, and the flagship Dynamique EDC. The Captur Dynamique EDC boasts a dual-clutch 6-speed automatic transmission and introduces Renault’s 1.2-litre 88 kW turbo engine, which delivers 88 kW @ 4 900 rpm and 190 Nm @ 2 000 rpm; fuel consumption is on the frugal side − just 5.4 l / 100 km.

The Expression and Dynamique come with a 5-speed manual box and Renault’s new-generation 66 kW turbo petrol engine with overboost. While less powerful than their big brother, their even more frugal consumption figures (4.9 l / 100 km) make the Expression and Dynamique derivatives as enticing. The Captur offers a choice of bi-tone body colours on the Dynamique models, and 16” and 17” alloys rims as standard on the Expression and Dynamique variants respectively. The stylish, curvaceous lines of the Captur’s bodywork are complemented by the brand’s signature chrome-plated Renault diamond set into the imposing black grille, and standard front LED daytime running lights.
