The aptly named Nature’s Rest Resort boasts an abundance of wildlife in a truly idyllic setting.
Situated on the banks of a lagoon estuary, and sheltered by cliffs and hillside covered in indigenous trees and bush, this park is the ideal setting in which to relax and enjoy nature at its best. The birdlife is prolific, and you can expect to hear the calls of the fish eagle and crowned eagle during the day, with the gentle hooting of the spotted eagle owl spreading like a gentle ripple through the night air. A ten-minute walk will bring you to a safe and secluded bathing beach – and what more you could want?
If you’re feeling energetic, there are pedal boats, a swimming pool and walks to keep you occupied, while the children will burn off their excess energy at the resort’s great kiddies’ playground.
There are 35 demarcated, well-grassed, shady sites, all with electricity, clean ablutions and a coin-operated laundry, and tent sites are also available – as well as piping hot water. The owners have confirmed that there will be no rate increase this year. The resort is pet-friendly, but you must arrange this before your visit.
