Manufacturer Profile: Abba Campers

Jos Joubert has been building his Abba Campers since 2008. Tried and tested, these units are tough enough for the bush, but still offer top luxury.

Now, after two decades of perfecting the Abba Camper, Jos is tackling a new adventure: The Abba Campervan. This new product is built in association with Reimo, a German company that has been building VW Campervans for over 35 years.

Abba Campers attended the training in Germany in 2017, and spend time in the Reimo facilities studying the methods and production systems in place.

Your current minivan/Kombi/panel van can be converted and homologated into an Abba Campervan, and still be used for daily driving and passenger-transport.

These conversions are available in various styles and layouts, and cater for your needs or lifestyle. They fit into a standard garage and into underground parking lots, and are always ready to head out for a camping adventure.

Abba Campervans can also be built on a VW Caddy, Ford Tourneo Connect and similar vehicles.

However, Reimo is not limited to just these vehicles, and can be adapted to virtually any kombi-type vehicle.

Jos is currently building a Renault Traffic panel van. It will be the most cost-effective medium-sized campervan in SA. Visit our website to see the Sprinter- and Crafter van layouts.

Abba Campers also does small ‘pop-tops’ for almost any type of vehicle. All Reimo roofs are OME manufacturer approved, and will not affect your vehicle warranty, and all sliding-rail sleeping bench seat systems are “TUV” approved.

If there’s any accessory you’d like for your campervan that is not available in South Africa, Jos can import the required products; for example, seat swivels, special awnings, window vents, memorabilia, and much more.

Abba will also gladly assist any DIY van builder with products, flat-pack furniture imports, and guidance.
