Makgabeng Farm Lodge lies in a magical corner of Limpopo, between the Makgabeng Plateau and Blouberg. This area is unique in that it is the only place in South Africa where you can witness the ancient rock art of both the Khoikhoi, the San and the Northern Sotho paintings.
Our lodge is a perfect home base for a rock art adventure, ideally on a mountain bike, so you can best experience the natural beauty and historical significance of the area. Bike to the ZAR prison built in 1900 at your own pace, explore the rock pools or relax in the shade of the enormous baobab trees.
We value our local inhabitants and to this end, we purchase the bulk of our supplies from local suppliers and employ local villagers as tour guides. Visit the Hananwa village where you will learn to cook a mean pot, or just mingle with the villagers. Stay at Makgabeng Farm Lodge and let the adventure start today.
