Launched: Mobi X

Marius Ras, who took the industry by storm a few years ago with his Mobi Lodge, has again turned heads with the launch of his Mobi X, an adventure trailer with a twist… you can sleep inside!

Just like it’s big brother the trailer is of the highest quality, and built on a heavy duty chassis of 4mm galvanised steel, with the same suspension and 16″ mags with All Terrain tyres as the Mobi Lodge.

Marius tells Caravan & Outdoor Life: “Our target market with the Mobi X is hard core 4×4 guys, people with lighter tow vehicles, and families – mom and dad inside, the kids in the rooftop tent.”

Access to the interior is through a door on the left side of the nose (aerodynamicly curved like the Mobi Lodge). Inside, almost the entire floor is taken up by the mattress, with some packing space on the driver side wall and access to the slide-out storage at the back. There are also reading lights, magazine nets, cooldrink holders and USB ports.

Outside, the Mobi magic is once again on full display. Behind the passenger side hatch is a Mobi-Lodge-style kitchen with space for all your utensils, crockery and cutlery. The big work surface also has a 2-plate gas burner stove. To the right of the kitchen is a built-in Jerry can holder; there’s a similar storage space on the other side. There’s another folddown hatch on the driver side, which gives you access to the cupboard packing space.

The back of the Mobi X has a spare wheel on a swing bar. Open the door and on a slideout rail you’ll find a porti potti, gas bottle, three ammo boxes (on separate side-ways slideouts for easy access), and a fridge/freezer.

The mobi X comes standard with a 150 L water tank, 7 L geyser, deep cycle battery, 10A AC/DC charger, kitchen awning, bathroom enclosed tent, external pull-out shower head and clothing rack.
