Heavy rain has forced SANParks to close gravel roads and various other parts of the Kruger National Park (KNP), in particular the far northern area, after they have received heavy rainfall since the early hours of Monday morning, 10 February 2020.

According to a tweet posted by SANParks the rain should start clearing by today, 12 February, but the rivers might continue to rise for some time. They are advising guests to be on the lookout and to avoid using gravel roads until further notice.
At the moment the following camps and gravel roads are affected by the rain and closed:
Nyalaland Wilderness Trail
Sirheni Bush Camp
Bateleur Bush Camp (only accessible via Nkokodzi turn-off)
Balule Camp
Talamati Bush Camp
Pafuri Gate
Tshokwane & Muzandzeni Picnic Sites
Biyamiti is accessible via S25
Sand River low water bridge inaccessible. All gravel roads in the Nxanatseni (north) Region of the Park from Pafuri to Letaba will be closed; with exception of Giriyondo gravel road as it will be operational but monitored closely and a few others depending on the developments.
