Ingredients
1 large egg
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 cup white whole-wheat flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
Strawberries
Whipped cream
Method
Whisk the egg, milk and oil in a large bowl.
In a separate bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir in.
Heat a large pan over medium heat and grease with butter or oil.
Pour about 2 tablespoons of the mixture into the pan and cook for a minute.
Flip the flapjacks and cook an for additional 1-2 minutes until done.
Serve with strawberries and cream.
Tips
Look out for a heart-shaped mould so that you can make romantic flapjacks. Even a big cookie cutter can work (if it can survive the heat of the pan).
If you cut a strawberry lengthwise, you might be able to get a slice that looks like a heart. Place these slices in the middle of the flapjack batter as soon as you have poured it into the pan.
