There’s an innovative new rooftop tent brand on the market in South Africa called iKamper.
Soon Park, iKamper’s founder and CEO, started the business after returning from an extended two-year camping holiday in the US with his wife and children.
The iKamper concept was driven by his fascination with tree houses, coupled with the difficulties he had experienced while camping on the road.
He developed the iKamper rooftop tent, Hard Top One, in 2014. He had his eye on the global market after that, and when he posted his second model, Skycamp, on Facebook, it was picked up by major outlets and quickly reached over 100 million online views.
In February 2017, iKamper’s Skycamp rooftop tent started a Kickstarter campaign, which soon became the most successful tent project ever on the crowd-funding website. Thousands of Skycamps were shipped to 46 countries around the world.
iKamper’s innovative design sleeps three to four people, and allows setup in less than a minute.
In January 2018, the revolutionary EatOut kitchen-in-a-box was also successfully funded, and production is set for March 2018.
After successful launches all over the world, iKamper is now coming to South Africa.
