This large campsite has 338 stands, all of which are grassed and have power. There are also 21 self-catering chalets and bungalows offering accommodation for groups between two and six people, which are kitted out with a bathroom, kitchen, crockery, cutlery, fridge, microwave and braai facilities – for those who don’t feel like setting up tents and camping. Ablutions are clean and neat offering hot showers, basins and toilets.
The campsite borders the Blue Flag swimming beach and is close to the Goukou River. Holidaymakers can enjoy a number of activities in and around this cosmopolitan campsite, such as mountain biking, excellent fishing, 4X4 trails, bird watching and whale watching, among many other activities for the whole family.
Stands do not offer shade, so it is suggested that patrons provide sufficient shade in the form of gazebos and awnings during the hot summer months. There is a shop on site that offers the basic supplies such as cool drinks, snacks and braai wood during the busy seasonal holidays. Communal braai areas are available to guests who want to spend the day outdoors, while their kids enjoy themselves in this safe environment.
Ellensrust Caravan Park is a short drive from the town centre. All you’ll hear is the laughter of children, the crackle of braai fires and the chattering of the abundant birdlife.
