The Caravan Club of Southern Africa (CCSA/KSA) is the largest caravan club in Southern Africa and holds 6 National Rallies per year on predetermined dates on which every region in South Africa will hold a rally. Regions then have regional rallies on alternate months which are arranged by each specific Region on their dates of choice.
Every 3rd year a Rally South Africa is held, of which this year Rally SA 2022 will be held in Bronkhorstspruit at Kaia Manzi Resort.
The CCSA is broken into 8 provinces and each province has between 4 and 5 regions within their province:
- 4 regions in the Eastern Cape.
- 3 regions in the Free State and Northern Cape.
- 4 regions in KwaZulu Natal.
- 4 regions in Northern Regions Area A.
- 4 regions in Northern Regions Area B.
- 5 regions in Northern Regions Area C.
- 3 regions in Northern Regions Area D.
- 6 regions in Western Cape.
The CCSA is are a family orientated club and the code of conduct, which every member abides by, ensures that the image of the CCSA is held in high regard by the general public, fellow campers, the resorts frequented and fellow road users. Regions arrange rallies according to all types of events and themes, and those that do partake, enjoy it very much.
Nothing within the normal run of a rally is forced upon anyone and if you as an individual do not feel comfortable to join in the activities, nobody holds you accountable and can happily just be a spectator. Club members have all kinds of camping equipment such as caravans, motorhomes, off-road trailers and tents, with the main aim being to have enjoyable outings (rallies).
The Rally Fixture List 2022 indicates the rallies planned for the whole of 2022 encompassing all regions countrywide. The 2022 Rally Fixture list is posted to the CCSA website. Bi-yearly the CCSA sends out the Homestead News in electronic form to all members. The 2021 Summer Edition of the Homestead News went out in Dec 2021 and can be found on the Website. The Winter Edition 2022 will be a bumper issue to coincide with the CCSA’s 75th birthday.

Clubs provide exceptional camping rallies, with new experiences and family togetherness with every rally. The CCSA thrives to have highly engaged members, who are friendly, welcoming and helpful. It’s a group where you will find honesty, integrity, trustworthiness, like a caring family. Members are driven to promote caravanning, camping and tourism in SA as a whole.

The CCSA goes to great lengths to support these resorts. Security is of the essence and camping in groups is the only secure way to do it.”
Being part of one of the CCSA’s regions ensures that members have at least 1 rally per month with a group of like-minded people, in a secure environment. Members become so close that they cannot wait to see each other at the next rally.
The regions and provinces arrange special events for their members like the Rally SA 2022 which will be held at Kaia Manzi over Easter 2022. Other special events are The Vyfster Rally, Goefy Games (arranged by the Northern Provinces), Banana Games (held in KZN) or even the famous Peddle Car Races that has been held for over 20 years in KZN. CCSA also gets involved in the camping expo’s to promote this lifestyle.
The CCSA structure comprises of a small National Council group of 5 people, which includes the President, Vice President, 2 National Councillors and a Secretary who is the only paid employee of the club. They are accountable to the authorities of the country. There are 8 provinces and each has a grouping of between 3 to 6 regions in these respective provinces.
Regions are managed by a committee which comprises a Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary, and in some regions, a few more members form part of the committee.
Much fun is awaiting those who join Rally SA 2022. Markets, volley ball round robins, a Saturday night party to celebrate the CCSA’s 75 years in existence, and much more.
