Dimalachite River Lodge is situated on the banks of the Vaal-river, close to Parys, in the Vredefort-Dome World Heritage Site, created by the impact of the biggest and oldest meteorite that ever struck the earth. Dimalachite is named after the Malachite King Fisher (Aloeda Cristata) that nests along the banks of the Vaal-river, surrounded by water, wild life and nature and where the call of the Fish Eagle can be heard from time to time.
Come and relax at the swimming pool or jacuzzi, do bird watching, paddle on the river and enjoy the thrill of White water
Rafting. Join us for a guided fishing trip and be sure to catch a fish, or catch that big one from your camp-site.
The kids can bring their bicycles, play at the jungle Jim or do paint-ball target shooting. Join us for sunset cruise on rafts (self paddling) just before sunset (minimum 4 people) with snacks or a bonfire braai at a bonfire. Enjoy your evenings with friends and family on the riverbank around a camp-fire. Game drives and on request.
Dimalachite is a place where the whole family is welcome. Good accommodation and camping facilities, and don’t forget the BIG fish. With deep holes and rapids, Dimalachite is the ideal fishing venue for fly as well as bank fishing. The biggest Large mouth yellow caught here on fly was 24lb. The Vaal river, close to Parys, has some of the best White-water rapids in South Africa. Dimalachite is a very popular white-water rafting destination for families, corporate & school groups.
