Tuff Cats made a strong impression at the 2025 Caravan Show with a trio of revamped Mbada models, each shaped by a clear emphasis on quick setup, thoughtful layout, and low-maintenance overland comfort. Whether for couples or families, every detail speaks to the company’s functional design ethos – and this year, those improvements come alongside the launch of a brand-new online shop, offering buyers a central hub for parts, upgrades and custom add-ons.
At the core of this refreshed lineup is the Mbada Nova 2 – an all-new design for 2025. Built entirely from aluminium and fully insulated, the Nova 2 is compact but packed with comfort. It now features a solid fixed bed and dedicated sitting area, eliminating the foldaway approach of previous compact models. The roof is fully electric, raising and lowering at the touch of a button, and the unit is aircon-ready, with a designated cavity for a split system mounted in the roof structure.
Interior upgrades include a washing basin inside the cabin, a built-in shower cubicle, and a generously sized 120 ℓ water tank – all features that reflect the model’s focus on greater comfort and longer stays. Despite its size, the Nova 2 positions itself as a fully equipped home base for couples wanting more substance in their setup without trading on weight or agility.
The Mbada Nova 2D builds on the Nova 2 layout with a smart shift in access and interior flow. As the name suggests, it features two doors and a walkthrough layout that leads directly to the shower area at the rear. This not only improves ventilation and movement within the unit, but also allows for dedicated use zones – a welcome feature on longer trips. The 2D includes basins both inside and outside, offering convenience for meal prep, hygiene, or washing gear without needing to rely solely on the internal plumbing.
For travellers needing more berth without a major footprint, the Mbada 4 delivers with a dual-axle, four-sleeper layout that includes a queen bed and twin bunks, designed to keep families or two couples comfortable.
The unit features a front kitchen, roof-mounted solar panel, and increased internal height for better movement throughout the cabin. Most notably, the full electric roof system makes setup nearly instant, and the inclusion of air conditioning takes the edge off hot summer evenings – a rarity in caravans of this class and footprint.
Throughout the range, Tuff Cats has stayed true to its clean, modular design language. Finishes remain minimalist and durable, with high-grade materials chosen to withstand long-term off-road use without fuss. Every detail in the 2025 lineup – from shower access to electric roofs – reflects a sharper focus on making the off-grid lifestyle faster to set up, easier to maintain, and more comfortable to live in.
