Okto arrived at the 2025 Caravan Show with two very different models that reflect the brand’s ongoing commitment to quality and choice. The debut of the Wasp marked Okto’s foray into the compact off-road space, while the new Cabana II Baseline introduced a pared-back version of their popular road caravan aimed at cost-conscious buyers.
The Wasp is a single-axle caravan built with a 1.6-tonne axle and fully wood-free body construction. Its exterior panels consist of vacuum-bonded aluminium and polystyrene with a 32 mm thickness, while the 40 mm floor provides added insulation and structural rigidity. Designed for two people, the layout includes a side-mounted queen-size bed, and the compact body is reinforced with off-road-ready features, making it a strong choice for gravel-road and bush adventuring.
The exterior kitchen setup includes shelving and space for a microwave, along with a 70 ℓ National Luna fridge. A gas-electric geyser and compact outside shower come standard, accessible from the driver side. The electrical system is solar-ready and includes a DC-to-DC charger, USB and 12 V sockets, and water level monitoring. Interior temperature is regulated by a built-in 7 000 BTU air conditioning unit. The Wasp also comes standard with a 75 ℓ water tank, making it fully equipped for off-grid travel straight off the showroom floor.
In contrast, the Cabana II Baseline is all about essential function and affordability. Based on the same chassis as the standard Cabana II, it maintains the same solid fibreglass build and includes a 220 V upright fridge, but strips away the extras – no slide-out kitchen, no battery system, no water tank or geyser. These features can be added later as upgrades, offering flexibility for buyers who want to spread out their investment or take a modular approach to outfitting their caravan.
This simplified version also results in a lighter van. The Baseline comes in with a GVM of 1 271 kg and a tare of just 1 080 kg, compared to 1 500 kg and 1 140 kg for the fully equipped Cabana II. It’s a practical option for newcomers to caravanning or those who prefer a no-frills build that leaves room for personalisation.
Together, these two models show Okto’s ability to serve very different customer needs – the Wasp for adventure-driven travellers who want a ready-made off-road solution, and the Cabana II Baseline for buyers who value customisation, simplicity, and entry-level accessibility.
