Destination Caravans returned to the 2025 Caravan Show with a new take on its flagship Kubu platform, launching the Destination Destiny – a more compact and simplified variation aimed at buyers who want a balance of comfort and minimalism, while still retaining luxury.
While both the Kubu and Destiny share the same structural underpinnings and dimensions, including a double-axle galvanised chassis and foam-core panel construction, the interior execution has been reworked in the Destiny.
Instead of a 12V chest-type fridge-freezer, the Destiny includes a 220V upright fridge with 154 litres of storage. The interior cabinetry has also been expanded to include additional overhead and bedside cupboards, positioning the Destiny closer in feel to a traditional road caravan.
The air conditioning system differs as well. Where the Kubu comes with a high-efficiency inverter unit, the Destiny is equipped with a standard wall-mounted system. Water capacity has also been reduced from 240 litres to 120 litres, and a single-plate induction stove replaces the Kubu’s two-burner gas unit. In line with its simplified setup, the Destiny omits the solar system entirely and instead comes standard with a 100 Ah battery and basic charger.
The tare weight of the Destiny is 1 440 kg, making it 200 kg lighter than the Kubu, but the GVM remains 2 000 kg, preserving the generous payload for extended travel. Inside, the Destiny still benefits from the same clean fibreglass finishes, soft-closing drawers, and marine-style cabinetry as its more expensive sibling.
The result is a caravan that maintains Destination’s signature aesthetic and structural quality, but with a pared-back spec sheet – ideal for travellers who want space and comfort, without the need for complex off-grid systems.
