It was with much anticipation that my wife and I travelled from Durban to Corian’s Caravan Park to view their new improvements. Corian’s is situated in the charming village of Pennington on the Natal South Coast. It is known as the garden park of the South Coast, with its indigenous trees and abundant birdlife, and this resort is only 90 m from miles of unspoilt beach.
On our arrival, owners Ian and Cornelia Clough proudly showed us round the new ablutions which they had completely rebuilt. We were very impressed with the feeling of luxury as one enters the block, as well as the roominess of the showers, and the general decor. The water is heated by gas geysers which are situated a distance away from the ablution facility, to meet safety regulations for new installations. The other ablution block was upgraded last year, which brought all their ablutions up to a modern, luxury standard.
The hall has been upgraded as well, with new outdoor blinds which allow guests to attend functions while protected from the weather elements, but still able to enjoy the view of the beautiful gardens.
What impressed me was the sites, which are large, and hedged for privacy. They all enjoy 220 V supply, are mostly grassed, and have a water-tap nearby. During your holidays, you wake up in the morning to the relaxing sounds of surf on the nearby beach. While sipping your early morning coffee, you can listen to the abundant resident bird life in this tree-filled park.
