Jos Joubert from Abba Campers has unveiled the first of his new Weekender campervan conversions. As a trained and approved installer of the German Reimo Van Concept products, Jos says they decided to start the conversion range with the Weekender concept: “Statistics have shown that this conversion is the most popular, due to the multi-purpose layout.”
The Weekender conversion features the installation of a clam-shell pop-up roof to create a sleeping area “on top” of the van, which allows the inside of the van to be used as normal, or there is the option to install a moveable sleep/seat in the cabin.
The Weekender comes with a compact kitchen unit with washbasin, stove, water, gas bottle, cutlery drawer and work surface on both sides. The kitchen is mounted on a swing arm, and can be moved to outside the van. When inside, the unit is situated right behind the front seats. The kitchen can also be completely removed, and there is the option to have the kitchen installed in the back.
Jos says: “The nice thing about the Weekender concept is that you can remove everything from the van and use the entire space for loading items for your business. Put the seats back and it’s a family bus.”
