Another year, another upgrade to the popular Penta. Is was difficult to miss the Penta 2018 on the Beeld Show floor – with the roof popped up but no side canvas installed, the multi-coloured twinkling lights in the roof and blue interior lighting option caught the attention of anyone walking nearby.
Stepping in, you’ll notice the finishing colour scheme is now grey and white. The dinette is still on your left (front of the caravan), with the fridge to the right of the door and a kitchen across from this. The gas stove have been replaced with a massive Yuppiechef induction cooker plate.
On your right as you enter the Penta, you’ll find a large touch screen panel with various buttons which allows you to control the inside and outside lighting, as well as monitors your battery and water levels. Jurgens are working on an app to allow this functionality on your smartphone as well.
Back inside, at the back of the Penta is a double island bed, with cupboards on both sides as well as above the bed. On the left hand side of the bed is a small washbasin/sink with running water.
The main interior lights are situated in the front and the back in the middle of the wall, not on the roof, with lighting options of either white or blue (which apparently attracts less insects at night).
A quirky optional extra for the new Penta is multi-coloured fairy lights installed in the roof above the bed, which is meant to give you a sense of looking at the stars even while inside your caravan.
The new Penta does not have an outside kitchen, only a clip-on washbasin on the side at the back, with running water.
