Hi, I am a newbie on this forum, and I wish to jump in with a question if I may; we have recently bought a new Suzuki SX4, and we are collecting our Scout this coming Saturday. Are there any other members who have this combination? I read in Caravan & Outdoor Life that the SX4 hasn't been tested as a towcar yet. Question

I have purchased a SX 4 about 2 years ago and I am anxiously awaiting the tow test now for more than 2 years(please,VERY BIG PLEASE,editor). I used the car to tow my Sprite StrataD for very short distances only because I use my Hilux 2.7 for towing .Ican only say that if it as good on long distances as on the short distances it is just as good as the Hilux , and the only reason for towing with the Hilux is becuase I feel it was built for this type of work.
I never felt that I was abusing the clutch or brakes of the SX 4 ,and the firm suspension calls for very little tail drop.
Bottomline: The SX4 is in my opinion an exellent car which seems to be able to handle almost anything you throw at it with ease.
Iam sure you will be pleasantly surprised when you tow your Scout ,let me know how it went.

Thanks for the reply. Our Scout is a great tow so far, and the Suzuki is very capable. It would be ineresting to know how the new 112Kw SX4 will handle a caravan, with the 6-speed gearbox. I think the peaky motor will have to work quite a bit harder as the max torque is at higher RPM than the 'old' 107Kw motor. Hopefully we will see a tow test on this forum or in the Magazine soon.
