Hi Warren
I reckon it's about time you replaced all them goodies - they must be plumb worn out by now from over-use. It's always enjoyable to get new and different goods every now and again but why a short wheelbase landy ? I would prefer the long wheelbase - heavier hence more stable, more room for family and more packing space. I am sure you will enjoy your camping even more now.
Enjoy, Cowen.

Warren

You were doing so well until you got to the TDI. I know it's so much better than a TD5 but how will you ever find time for fishing when you weekend will be spent fixing the Landy.

Cowen - Time to find a little gem in life. Umtentweni, is on the KZN south coast just before Port Shepstone - Once bitten you will be back

Cheers Guys

Hi Duncan,
It's pick on Warren day. Don't you think he is a bit greedy getting all those extras for his Landy ? Maybe he is one of those guys who just likes a lot of goodies. What worries me is how on earth is the poor Landy going to pull it's own weight, never mind his van AND his boat ( check out his Avatar ) Do you think he might be a train driver ?? I think I would be a nervous wreck trying to tow a combination like that ! Maybe he needs the fishing to calm his nerves after arriving at his site. Between the two of us - I am SO JEALOUS that he has all those goodies and the Landy sounds great, I can see him making good use of all of those facilities and even though it all sounds expensive I think it is money well spent.
I wonder if he is having sleepless nights with his new baby ? Maybe he is wise and left mommy and baby at home and gone camping. I sense I could be putting my foot in it, so I better say cheers.

And I took out an extra gas bottle and a few spare cooker tops to lighten my Romany..........
On a serious note, the past long weekend I checked through my van whilst at Eastco and FILLED my Tucson's boot with things I have not used in the last year. Must weigh at least 100 kg !
Keep well,
Cheers

We all seem to collect a lot of baggage as we progress in life.
I know someone who has a policy of dumping anything he has not used in the past year, that includes women.
Fortunately for me my woman is here to stay, I hope.
This should get a few comments from the boss.

Hell if I had to pay/ buy all that to get on the road to relax then I would have bought a Nissan standard 4x4 with no extras and no stress with lots of frosties and still had fun.

Hi All

This be Warren’s alter persona, (one of 5 by the way), an as the financial director I ‘recon I be the sensible one..
Man you gotta meet the entertainment director, now there’s a nut-case for ya),

An just for the record, on the matter of this acquisition… I was instantly out-voted 4 to 1

Anyhow, since we’re all ‘avin a go at Warren (the Chairman), please allow me ta also throw a twig or two on this ‘ere campfire..

What on earth was he ‘a thinking?

I mean, not only does he now drive a vehicle that has the aerodynamics of a San parks ablution block, but it’s got diff-lock as well

Now forgive me for ‘askin… but with his user name “Sitnievasnie” does ‘e even ‘av the foggiest idea what this does??

Then of course, the question begs ‘answerin… Who, in their right mind, would shorten the length of the tug in order to tow a longer van / boat / trailer / cement mixer??

Certifiable…
Downright certifiable…
‘As ta be…

Have a laugh!
Life’s fun

The other Warren

PS
Me gran-daughter (Kayleen) as finally arrived…
She be tiny, (an I mean really tiny) pink, wrinkly, with 10 toes, but only 1 nose…

At my age, perhaps a mite ‘optimistic but anyhow I bought ‘er a coupla nice dishcloths & a washstand….

Warren (that one)

PPS

Hi there Ocnaj,

Ya missed the point laddie, I didna pay for all-o-that, I bought it from a dealer who did not know the value of the extras... I (then he) only found out after I had LA Sport value the extras for insurance purposes...

Mees way to shnoep ta be spending me hard earned sheckels...

I realize that , you obviously just paid too much for that rig.Why does a landy need all those extras?
As we always joked here on the coast a landy was three weekends maintenance one on the beach with all the gear.
Have fun and good luck

Hi All Cool

So I'm told....

An way-a-ways back on this here forum (posted under the heading "the big five" I be askin' the question, how does the Mahindra perform with a sizable van ('an boat / cement mixer) 'ooked up b'hind.

At the time, I was quite interested therein, but 'as no answers where a-commin, I let it go...

Another "Warrinism"
The true value of a 4x4 is inversely proportional to it's complexity, 'an the M... Boy she be basic.... r-e-a-l basic...

Now this here beastie, 'appened along at the right time, at the right place & convieiency... 'An with all the "groceries" I 'ad to jump.

Some time ago, (gander at the bottom of the forum page), I did ask yaas what be the knowin' which be a better tug, short or long wheel base.

The only factor that did raise me bushy eyebrow was "pitching"

I'm happy to say that with both my Avon LT & me trailer, I don't 'av any problems.

Now, I just have been given (yes given) another caravan....

........Must be me wunnerful 'charmin personality Laughing Laughing 'cause at my age I ain't got any looks left

"an don't ya'll be a 'gittin green around the gills, I ain't seen it yet, but from all accounts it be the old 2 tone Jurgens 'an could be either the 560 or the 450...

It be in Ellis Ras.. An the owner be immigratin to New Zealand

So when I bring it back, (sometime "afore the 7) I'll have more on this one....

Talkin of pitchin...
I went to the Trapezium factory (Duncan, they are just around the corner from me)

Absolutely 'facinatin

Yellow blade be made there....

They got a hitch accessory specifically designed to counter-act pitching especially designed for off-road vans

Anyone tried this device? Any write-ups?

Have a lekker day
Warren
